Hand Turned Wooden Yarn Caddy in Oak & Spalted Beech

Availability: Out of stock

After years of being asked if we had a wooden yarn bowl with a lid we are delighted to add to our range this stunning Yarn Caddy.

Turned locally for us by Graham Addison Woodworking it is a beautiful marriage of design and practicality brought together by craftsmanship of the very highest order.

The caddy starts life as two blocks of seasoned Oak and locally sourced Spalted Beech which are glued together before being expertly fashioned into shape. The lid is the turned in one piece and precisely shaped to fit before the yarn guide is cut into the front. It is all then meticulously sanded and multiple coats of liquid wax are applied before the final polishing process enhances the beautiful detail of the grain, giving a durable silky smooth finish to the caddy

The amount of hours of care and attention to detail that go into making these yarn caddies and the consequent cost means that they will be produced in quite limited numbers.

Diameter : 115cm ( approx 7ins) Height 13cm (approx 6ins) Weight : 910g (approx 1.5lb)
