Hand Turned Yarn Bowl in Oak & Ash

Hand Turned Yarn Bowl in Oak & Ash

Exquisitely crafted from a marriage of Oak and Ash this beautiful yarn bowl is as decorative as it is practical.

Turned locally for us by Graham Addison, who makes our Yarn Servers, the bowl is big enough to easily take a large ball or cake of yarn and heavy enough to be extremely stable in use.

The bowl starts life as two blocks of seasoned Oak and Ash which are glued together before being expertly fashioned into shape with the yarn guide being cut into the front of the bowl. It is then meticulously sanded and multiple coats of liquid wax are applied before the final polishing process enhances the beautiful detail of the grain and gives a durable silky smooth finish to the bowl.

The amount of hours of care and attention to detail that go into making these bowls means that they will be limited in numbers and in our opinion will make a quite unique and special knitting gift.

Diameter : 16.5cm ( approx 6.5ins) Height 13cm (approx 5ins) Weight : 910g (approx 2lb)

Because they are all individually hand made, the size, shape and grain detail may vary slightly between bowls.
